Problem: The textile industry is one of the biggest polluters. In the field of high-performance water-repellent textiles, substances that are harmful to the environment and potentially toxic are often used. In addition, most of those textiles are not recyclable.

Solution: At Octo we start at the beginning of the textile chain to set the foundation for a circular value chain. We have developed a new technology by transferring an effect from nature to a yarn. The result: the Octo yarn – recyclable and non-wettable.

USP: A textile made of Octo yarn stays absolutely dry – even under water. It is also thermally insulating and has low frictional resistance under water. Above water it is breathable. The Octo yarn is based on recycled materials and is recyclable at the end of its life.

Markets: From the well-known raincoat to all technical textiles that require water repellency (e.g. PPE, textile underbody panelling for automotive, textiles in the construction industry, etc.)
