Data collection/contact outside this website
If you send us your personal data by a means other than transmission via this website (handing over business cards, contacting us by e-mail, etc.) or if your data is collected by us via publicly accessible sources, we will process and store your data electronically. This is done for the purpose of individual communication with you on topics relevant to the association. Your data will be stored until the interest in information no longer exists.
Shared responsibility and data sharing
Due to the special relationship under association law between CWFG, VCI and its state and trade associations as well as their subsidiary organizations, they may use your data to fulfill joint purposes. Through the joint use of data, these organizations become joint data controllers within the meaning of Art. 26 of the General Data Protection Regulation. We provide you with information on this agreement here in accordance with Art. 26 (2) sentence 2 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Insofar as we use external service providers as order processors, your data will also be passed on to them. In the latter case, the transfer of your personal data takes place on the basis of a corresponding order processing agreement, which regulates the obligations of the service providers and ensures data protection and data security.
Legal basis
The legal basis for the above data processing is Article 6 (1) (a) DS-GVO.

Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which are automatically transmitted by your browser. These are:
o IP address
o User agent
o Referer
o Date and time and type of request
The legal basis for this is the provision of Art. 6 para.1 letter f (legitimate interest) of the DSGVO. Our concern in terms of the DSGVO (legitimate interest) is to enable error analysis and audit security as well as the optimization of our online offer and our web presence. This data is automatically deleted after 30 days. A combination of this data with other data sources is not made.
Cookies
1. Cookies are used on this website. A cookie is a small text file that is sent by WWW servers when a website is visited and stored on the hard disk of the respective user. If the corresponding server is called up again, the user’s browser sends the previously received cookie back to the server. The server can then evaluate the information obtained through this procedure in various ways. Cookies can, for example, make it easier to navigate a website or save configurations.
2. session cookies are used on the server side for the purpose of allocating and verifying browser requests. These are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 letter a DSGVO (consent).
3. In addition, cookies are also used that do not collect any personal data or any personal information about the user, so that the operator is not able to identify the user with the information obtained from the cookies.
4. The User can prevent the storage of cookies on his hard drive by selecting “do not accept cookies” in his browser settings. He can also set his browser so that it asks whether the user agrees before cookies are set.
5. Once cookies have been set, they can be deleted manually at any time.
6. If the user does not accept cookies, this may lead to functional restrictions of the website in individual cases.
Social media plugins and interaction buttons
With your consent, we activate so-called social plugins of the social networks Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as “Follow”, “Share” and “Subscribe” buttons (hereinafter: “interaction buttons”) of the social networks Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn on our websites.
We point out that with your consent, a connection is established with the servers of the social media operators. The activated social plugins or the activated interaction buttons transmit data to the respective social network. We would like to point out that we have no knowledge of which data is transmitted to the respective social media operators in individual cases and for which purposes the data is used there. Typically, the IP address and a browser string are transmitted to the social media operators. To our knowledge, a cookie with a unique identifier is set each time the relevant website is called up. This can enable the social network to create a profile about your usage behavior.
Even if you are not a member of a social network or are not currently logged in there, it is still possible that the social networks receive and store your IP address as well as information about the browser and operating system you are using. It cannot be ruled out that the profile about your usage behavior can also be assigned to you in the event of a subsequent first-time registration with the social network. With regard to the respective data transmission and data use by the social media operators, we recommend that you take note of the data protection information and explanations on the websites of the respective social media operators.
With your consent, you agree to the aforementioned data transmission. The consent can be revoked with effect for the future.
We would like to point out that, if necessary, you can use appropriate add-ons for the browser you use (for example, so-called “Facebook Blocker”) to prevent data transfers to social media operators. However, we cannot guarantee the effectiveness of such solutions.
Social media – “Share page” function
Our website makes it easier for users of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Xing) to recommend a chemstars.nrw page in these social networks by including links marked by corresponding icons.
By clicking on the corresponding links, you will leave the chemstars.nrw website and go to the website of the respective social media platform. A data exchange with the aforementioned social media operators only takes place if the corresponding icon button is clicked. If you click on such an icon button, a page of the corresponding social media operator opens in a pop-up window. We point out that already through this, but in any case after logging in on a social media platform, a data transmission between the user and the provider of the social media platform may take place. We have no knowledge of what data is transmitted to the respective providers in individual cases by activating the social plugins and for what purposes the data is used there.
etracker
The provider of this website uses services of etracker GmbH from Hamburg, Germany (www.etracker.com) to analyze usage data. Cookies are used to enable a statistical analysis of the use of this website by its visitors and the display of usage-related content or advertising. Cookies are small text files that are stored by the Internet browser on the user’s terminal device. etracker cookies do not contain any information that enables identification of a user.
The data generated by etracker is processed and stored by etracker on behalf of the provider of this website exclusively in Germany and is thus subject to the strict German and European data protection laws and standards. etracker has been independently audited, certified and awarded the data protection seal of approval in this regard. Data processing is carried out on the legal basis of Art. 6 para .1 letter f (legitimate interest) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Our legitimate interest is the optimization of our online offer and our web presence. Since the privacy of our visitors is particularly important to us, the IP address is anonymized at etracker as early as possible and login or device identifiers are converted at etracker to a unique key that is not assigned to a person. No other use, merging with other data or disclosure to third parties is made by etracker.
You can object to the aforementioned data processing at any time, insofar as it is personal. Your objection will not have any adverse consequences for you. You have been excluded from the count.
LinkedIn Analytics and LinkedIn Ads
We use the conversion tracking technology as well as the retargeting function of LinkedIn Corporation on this website.
The LinkedIn Insight tag allows us to collect data about visitors to our website, including URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser properties (user agent), and timestamp. IP addresses are truncated or (if used to reach members across devices) hashed. Members’ direct identifiers are removed within seven days to pseudonymize the data. This remaining pseudonymized data is then deleted within 180 days. LinkedIn does not share personally identifiable information with the site owner, but only provides reports and notifications (in which you are not identified) about site audience and ad performance. LinkedIn also provides retargeting for website visitors so that the website owner can use this data to display targeted ads outside of their website without identifying the member. LinkedIn also uses data that does not identify you to improve the relevance of ads and reach members across devices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes in their account settings.
See LinkedIn’s privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy for more information on data collection and use, as well as privacy options and rights. If you are logged in to LinkedIn, you can deactivate the data collection at any time at the following link: https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/enhanced-advertising.
Google Ads Conversion Tracking
We use the Ads-Conversion-Tracking technology of google on this website.
We use the offer of Google Ads Conversion to draw attention to our website with the help of advertising media (so-called Google Ads) on external websites. In relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are. In this way, we pursue the interest of showing you advertising that is of interest to you and making our website more interesting for you.
When you click on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the Internet browser stores on the user’s computer. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. For this cookie, the unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed) are usually stored as analysis values.
Due to the tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with Google’s server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool.
You can find more information about Google conversion tracking in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. When deactivating cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Facebook & Instagram Pixel (Facebook Pixel):
We use the Facebook Pixel on this website. The Facebook Pixel enables the measurement, evaluation and optimization of the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes and helps us to display personalized ads from us to you on the Facebook and Instagram platforms. For this purpose, profiles are created with user-related information to determine target groups relevant for marketing purposes and conversion measurement (measurement of the effectiveness of marketing measures) is carried out. Facebook and Instagram are operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2 Ireland (“Facebook”).
For the aforementioned purposes, usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, app installations, product purchases, access times) as well as meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses) are collected. Cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies are used for this purpose. As a website operator, we only receive reports from Facebook in anonymized form.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Facebook server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Facebook through the use of the pixel. Through the integration of Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook receives the information that you have called up a corresponding online offer from us or clicked on an ad from us. If you are registered with one of Facebook’s services, Facebook can assign the visit to your respective account. Even if you are not registered with Facebook or Instagram or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will learn and store your IP address and other identifiers.
For more information on the collection and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.
You can revoke your consent to the use of the Facebook pixel at any time with effect for the future by following this link: https://www.facebook.com/login.php?next=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fads%2Fpreferences%2F%3Fentry_product%3Dad_settings_screen. Therefore you must be logged in to Facebook.
Twitter Conversion Tracking
We use Twitter conversion tracking for websites on this website. For this purpose, we have integrated a Twitter tag on our website. This allows us to target you with advertising based on your interests on the Twitter platform. Twitter Conversion Traking is an offer of Twitter Inc, 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.
For the aforementioned purpose, meta/communication data (e.g. the type of device you use and your IP address) as well as usage data such as the websites you visit and other data (e.g. all interactions regarding the displayed advertising such as clicking on links, retweets or likes) are collected in pseudonymous, non-personal form via the Twitter tag. If you subsequently visit Twitter, you will be shown advertisements based on your interests. Twitter thereby receives the information from your browser that our website was called up from your end device. If you are registered with a Twitter service, Twitter can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Twitter or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will learn and store your IP address and other identifying features. The information generated by the tags about your use of our services is transmitted to a Twitter server in the USA and stored there.
For more information on data processing by Twitter, please visit: https://twitter.com/de/privacy.
For more information on the collection of data by Twitter and how you can prevent this function on at Twitter itself, see “Your privacy settings” for personalized ads (twitter.com).

Online presences in social media
We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to be able to communicate with interested parties active there and to inform them about the activities of chemstars.nrw. As a rule, the providers of the social networks and platforms process user data. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the users’ computers, in which the usage behavior and interests of the users are stored. In this way, for example, usage profiles can be created. In addition, data can also be stored in the usage profiles regardless of the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them). We would like to point out that in the process, data of the users may be processed outside the area of the European Union. The security of the transfer is regularly safeguarded via so-called standard contractual clauses, which ensure that the processing of personal data is subject to a level of security that corresponds to that of the GDPR. If the standard contractual clauses or binding corporate rules are not sufficient to establish an adequate level of security, your acknowledgement of the privacy policy in the context of the contact forms is deemed to be consent within the meaning of Art. 49 (1) lit.a DSGVO, which justifies a transfer of data to insecure third countries.
